Alexander: Month Six

• Loves to play with tags.
• Isn't really a fan of rice cereal, but loves the oatmeal kind. 
• Favorite food is sweet potatoes, just like his daddy.
• Eats oatmeal in the morning.  A fruit for lunch. And then a veggie for dinner.
• Is so close  to crawling. Gets up on his knees and hands and will rock back and forth. 
• Can sit up without any support.
• Finally learned how to roll from tummy to back and now just log rolls all over the place. Or just scoots himself on his stomach, both forward and backwards.
• Is obsessed with feet.
• Slept through the whole night for the first time. Has only done it once though. Average is up once a night to eat. 
• Hates to have his face wiped, especially after a meal.
• Is a total side and stomach sleeper. 
• Doesn't fall asleep on his own in the crib, but if you lay him down on the couch or bed, he'll be asleep within ten minutes. 
• Transitioned him to his own room right after he turned five months old. 
• Started teething again almost a week before he turned six months old. No new teeth yet. Hopefully soon though, so we get our happy baby back.

"Mini Vacation"

I ended up having six days off of work in a row after our hotel stay so we decided to continue the fun and have a "mini vacation" for the remainder of my days off. We did a lot of swimming. A lot of eating. Stayed outdoors as much as possible. A lot of walking. And a lot of happy memories.

Staycation

Went on our first vacation as a family of three! We didn't go too far, just picked a hotel about ten minutes away to stay at for the night. We enjoyed some good food. Went swimming in the indoor pool. (We loved swimming so much that we came home and went swimming again. Haha.) And enjoyed hanging out in the hotel room. Alex did great, which makes us excited to go on more vacations in the future.

Alexander: Month Five

• Got his first tooth on the last day of June. And then got his second one just the other day. 
• Has mastered going from back to tummy. Still working on tummy to back. 
• Will roll onto his stomach and then get mad because he can't roll back to his tummy.
• Loves being in the pool.
• Loves to sit up and is getting better at sitting up while being supported.
• Started solids a week ago. Eats rice cereal in the morning and then has a fruit or vegetable in the evening. Has so far tried apples and carrots and likes them both. 
• Wakes up twice a night to eat. Since starting solids a week ago, he has done a couple of only waking up once. So hopefully he will only wake up once a night more often. 
• Learned to do raspberries. His favorite time to do it is when he eats. 
• Moved into three to six month clothing and size three diapers.
