First Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! And to my Alex... I may not have it all together and I probably never will. I'm still learning and growing just like you. There have been plenty of times where we have both cried, laughed and slept things off. But I will always be grateful that you are the one that made me a mother.

Alexander: Month Three

  • Loves to look at ceiling fans.
  • Found his hands this month. Loves putting them in his mouth, with the occasional thumb sucking.
  • He also discovered his legs this month too.
  • He may have started cooing last month occasionally, but now he coos and babbles all of the time now. And quite loud sometimes too.
  • Loves to have his diaper changed. As soon as you put him on the changing table he is all smiles.
  • Still wakes up two to three times a night. His longest stretch of sleep so far has been six and a half hours with his average being three and a half hours. And one night he only woke up once.
  • Loves to wiggle around.
  • Eats around three to four ounces at every feeding.
  • Went on his first plane ride.
  • Got to met a lot of my side of the family out in Utah for nine days.
  • Enjoyed tummy time so much more this month. Key to having him enjoy it... change the location of where it happens every time.
  • Is super close to rolling from his tummy to back. Has rolled from his back to tummy twice.
  • Rolls onto his side all of the time. Loves to sleep this way at night most of the time. And will even just lay on his side sometimes while awake too.
  • Discovered that he only likes lotion if it's not cold because if it is, everyone in the house will hear it.
  • He really is such a happy baby. Loves to smile and talk to us.

Happy three months! And being three months means not smiling when mom has the camera out. After 5 minutes and switching locations, this was the best I got. And once the camera went away he was all smiles.

Instead of sucking his thumb, Brandon would suck his index finger and middle finger at the same time when he was little. Occasionally I will catch Alex sucking on two of his fingers too and I think it's cute.

Utah Trip 2019

As a Christmas present to my mom, my sisters bought a plane ticket for Alex and I to fly out to meet my side of the family for nine days.

Alex was amazing on his first flight. Slept ninety-eight percent of the time. The flight attendants were all surprised that he slept the whole time and they referred to him as the good baby, because the baby next to us was a nightmare for the first half of the flight. Haha. And on the flight back he did great too. A little more fussy because he was fighting going down for his nap, but once he was down, he was out for the rest of the flight.

Got all the good food while I was out there. Betos. Taco Time. Weinersnitchel.

He was able to met his great grandparents, various aunts and uncles and cousins, and a couple of friends.

Alex took the best naps on grandma.

Aunt Maddie introduced him to bathroom selfies and snapchat filters.

Celebrated his first Easter out in Utah. I am so happy my mom got to experience Alex's first major holiday since she has missed out on everything else from living thirty-two hours away.

Aunt Sydney let me take a few good naps whenever she was over to visit.

Got to visit Aunt Maddie's apartment for the first time and tagged along with Grandma to a doctor's appointment.

Hairy tolerated Alex so much better than Izzy ever has. Probably because her need for constant attention outweighs some strange baby in the house.

Aunt Maddie and Aunt Sydney call him Xander.

I'm so happy that I was able to take Alex out to Utah, but all I know is next time I am bringing Brandon with me so he can help hold Alex while flying because he is one heavy baby. Haha.

Alexander: Month Two

  • Went on his first of many walks in the stroller.
  • Visited my work place for the first time.
  • Met a lot of Brandon's side of the family.
  • At six weeks old, went from newborn diapers to size one.
  • Is officially in size zero to three month old clothing now.
  • Started to smile. And it's pretty easy to get him to give us a smile.
  • Started to coo and laugh.
  • Brandon wants him to stay a baby for forever, and as for me I'm not so sure. Haha.
  • Some days he takes really good naps and other days his naps are more like cat naps.
  • On average drinks around three and half ounces at each feeding.
  • Only wakes two times a night, with an occasional waking up three times a night.
  • Enjoys bath time.
  • Still loves to sit up (with the occasional standing on his legs) and look around. And has gotten pretty good with holding his head up.
  • Brandon loves to call Alex either "Daddy's Little Mover" or "Buddy". I have yet to give him any nicknames.
  • Didn't like tummy time as much this month, probably due to us slacking with doing it, which we need to  work on.
  • Lost most of his hair on the top of his head.
  • Had to wash the padding of his car seat for the first time from an overly wet diaper.
  • Slept in a rock and play sleeper for the first month and decided to switch him to the bassinet this month. Was worried about how he would adjust, but thankfully it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

MONTH TWO STATS...
Weight: 12 lbs 2oz (48th percentile)
Height: 24in (90th percentile)

(Five generations)
